5 Nurses In The Same Maternity Ward All Have Brain Tumors?

ANY AND EVERYONE WOULD WONDER HOW 5 NURSES WORKING TOGETHER ALL HAVE BRAIN TUMORS

Math is hard.  But math is also easy.  That dichotomy is true for all of us, and which path it is really depends on context and understanding.  Yet both seem to apply to the situation involving 5 nurses who all work in the same maternity ward, in the same hospital, that have brain tumors.  So the math is hard in that statistically speaking, it’s extremely unlikely that this is a random event where 5 different people all have the same rare medical condition.  But the math is also easy, in that there must be an explanation as to why and how this came to be.

BESIDES THE 5 NURSES, 6 OTHER PEOPLE ON THE SAME FLOOR ALSO HAVE MEDICAL ISSUES

There’s more, of course.  The 5 nurses all work on the 5th floor of Mass General Brigham’s Newton-Wellesley Hospital, which is just outside of downtown Boston.  But besides the 5 nurses, there are 6 other people working on the very same floor who also have some kind of as yet, undisclosed health condition.  Here the math is easy again, because that makes eleven employees, all working on the same floor, with some kind of health problem.  The math could get even easier if those other, undisclosed health conditions make it easier to identify… cause.

HOSPITAL SAYS THE WORK ENVIRONMENT IS SAFE, BUT BRAIN TUMORS IN 5 NURSES MORE THAN A RED FLAG

But the hospital, of course, is saying they conducted an “extensive investigation,” but “found no environmental risks which could be linked to the development of a brain tumor.”  Pretty much anyone would find that to be a cop out, and clearly unlikely.  Because the math is easy, and the chances of all of these brain tumors and other health issues happening at the same place and time independently are extremely unlikely.  So the Massachusetts Nurses Association will help other staffers who work at the hospital to obtain medical records to see if the pool of 11 is actually a lot larger.

I’m not saying there’s a bad actor or villain here.  But this math is both easy and hard.  Once the mystery is solved, it will be easy for everyone.
