NORTH CAROLINA WOMAN WINS A BUNDLE ON ACCIDENTAL SCRATCH OFF TICKET
Sometimes, things are just meant to happen. That’s clearly the case for a woman from North Carolina. Her name is Zerineia Carmichael and she lives in Goldsboro. A week ago, she was at a retail store and tried to buy a Carolina Panthers game ticket. But the clerk mis-heard her and gave her a 777 scratch off game card instead. Normally, Carmichael says she would have corrected the clerk’s error and asked for the correct game. But for whatever reason she didn’t do that. So she pocketed the game to play later. She did, and found out she won $277,777! That was truly meant to be.

The fun story of fortune came out when the North Carolina Education Lottery issued a press release. Carmichael went back to her car and pulled the game out of her pocket. She started to scratch the number off. She could see a few number. Disappointed, she paused, thinking the prize was only $7. But she kept scratching and kept seeing the number 7 again and again. At the end of the row, she won more than a quarter of a million dollars! After all the deductions, that leaves her with $195,837 to take home.

So far, she only has plans to buy a new car with some of the money. What else is on her winning to do list? She’s thinking some luxury home upgrades. Maybe she’ll take that vacation she’s never been able to before. But whatever remains, she plans to donate to charity. Now that’s a woman who knows how to listen to her instincts. She’s also got the spirit to share her fortune with others. Now that’s a great American in the state of North Carolina. Maybe she should run for office there? Just saying. They need some elected officials with these priorities in North Carolina.
