ROOSTER WITH RAZOR CLAWS KILLS OWNER ON THE WAY TO COCKFIGHT
So I have to start talking about this story with a certain level of, well, incredulousness. I mean really, when’s the last time you heard about a rooster with razor blades on its claws. A razor clawed rooster? It sounds like something out of a Tarantino screenplay that never made the big screen. But should have. So here we go. A man in India, the 50-year-old Saripalli Chanavenkateshwaram Rao, died on the way to a cockfight. How? Well, his fighting razor clawed rooster killed him on the way to a cockfight. See? This is just totally ridiculous. I’d talk about Karma, but don’t want to ruin mine.

So how did this razor clawed rooster kill his owner, Rao? Well, they didn’t have a row, if that’s what you thought. The rooster slashed Rao’s neck with one of its razor claws on January 15th while they went to a cockfight. Medics quickly took him to a local hospital. But they later pronounced him dead. The cause? A massive stroke related to his injuries. Rao was a father to three children. Local police told media that Rao often frequented local cockfights. The rooster that killed him evidently tried to break free on the way to one. But different outlets report different facts. Another has him being 55 years old and that he suffered wounds to his stomach.

So what’s with these cockfights? Back in 2016, the High Court at Hyderabad ruled that they were illegal. But cockfights continue to be hugely popular in Andhra Pradesh. Last year, the area saw a big increase in cockfights. But technically, India as a whole has considered cockfights to be illegal since 1960. Yet it’s hard to be too surprised, since these continue today in the United States as well. But razor claws? I just don’t know what to make of that. But there’s no cock block for that, as Rao found out the hard way. I’d say more. But I’m chicken of coming back as a chicken.
