FLORIDA COPS CHASE DOWN, CAPTURE ESCAPED KANGAROO IN FORT LAUDERDALE
Florida is in the news, again! As you may have heard, Coronavirus is on the loose in the Sunshine State. Like, all over the place. But evidently, local Florida police in Fort Lauderdale had quite the unusual culprit that was on the loose. An escaped kangaroo. A kangaroo! What else could we expect from the great state of Florida? I kind of shudder to find out. So this marsupial was running out and about. Or, considering where he’s from, a walkabout. And yes, I’m having a flashback to Crocodile Dundee. Way to go, Joey! But police managed to capture the miscellaneous marsupial.

JUST IMAGINE POLICE GETTING THE CALL OVER A KANGAROO ON THE LOOSE
Someone called police to report the carousing kangaroo. Can you imagine? You walk out your front door, and a kangaroo runs by? On this side of the planet? Or, maybe, you slowed down from that deer you saw in the corner of your eye? But then, it hops by on two legs and offers to box you? Yeah, Florida has everything. So when police got the call, they went to work. They managed to catch the escaped Roo and somehow got him into a squad car. And now, yes, you have a real life image of a kangaroo in the back of a police squad car.

KANGAROO ESCAPED FROM OWNER, AND THEY ARE LEGAL IN MOST OF FLORIDA, BUT NOT FORT LAUDERDALE
Fort Lauderdale police then had to find a place to take the well pouched animal. So they realized there was only one place that made any sense. They drove the Joey to a barn where they keep all the police horses. Of course. So where did this kangaroo come from? Well, he was a pet. His owner, Anthony Macias, realized his unusual friend escaped when he didn’t close the gate completely taking out the garbage. Unfortunately, police won’t return the escapee. So kangaroos are legal in much of Florida. Just not Fort Lauderdale.
Ah, Florida.
