LOCAL FUROR AS AARDVARK PIZZA APPEARS IN SCOTLAND RESTAURANT
But what is pizza these days? Well, to answer that question, you’d have to know that almost every person in the world might have a totally different answer. But I’m a little old school. So maybe you’d even call me a purist. But I balk at just seeing pineapple on a pizza. But now, the curious can try something way out of left field. Aardvark pizza? Aardvark pizza! So yes, it’s now a thing, thanks to a restaurant in Kilmarnock, England. But for most of us, we have no idea that’s in Scotland. So the new addition of Aardvark pizza on the menu is causing a bit of a furor. Some people are even freaking out about it.

CHEF WANTED TO OFFER SOMETHING “DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE”
So Aardvark came to pass in just the last few days. So far, the Indian Restaurant seems to be the only place in the world offering the exotic… dish. The head chef, Anser Anton, has it listed as Spicy Aardvark Pizza. Somehow, the pricing seems to be totally reasonable, at least by New York City standards. So what’s on this unprecendented Neapolitan style pizza? Green chillies, spicy chicken, minced lamb and the star attraction, aardvark meat. Anton said that he wanted to offer restaurant goers a dish “different and unique.” I’d say he totally succeeded.

BUT IS AARDVARK REALLY ON THE MENU? BUSH MEAT LAWS APPLY
But so far there is no confirmation that the pizza actually includes meat from the nocturnal critter. So far, one customer went in and said that the restaurant totally backtracked when an inspector approached them for facts. But the visit was a little weird. Just picture, a woman wearing a white coat came in with a hair net on, saying she was an inspector and wanted answers. She wanted to know where the aardvark was from and wanted documented proof. But since aardvarks are from Africa, they fall into the UK’s bushmeat import rules. So if you sell aardvark meat, you have to have a license to do so!
So if you’re curious, you may not actually get to eat aardvark pizza, literally. But chicken and lamb do sound nice.
