BEECH MOUNTAIN SKI RESORT GUESTS KNOCKED OFF SKI LIFT BY BLAST OF ICE-COLD WATER
I’m not a skier. The idea seems nice, even fun. But I missed my learning curve years ago after one go, and connective tissue in the knees isn’t what it once was to pick it up now. And I can only imagine how crazy this situation was, having been on a ski lift a number of times on a day long ago. But for regular skiers or a newbie like I was, this is just totally insane. Because a number of people on the ski lift at the Beech Mountain Ski Resort got to enjoy an ice-cold blast of water in what could only feel like a nightmare.

BEECH MOUNTAIN WATER BLAST KNOCKED PEOPLE OFF SKI LIFT, OTHERS JUMPED TO ESCAPE
And simply calling it an ice-cold water blast doesn’t quite do it justice. Several people had to go to the hospital from their injuries, as the jet of water literally knocked out of their chairs. On the ski lift! And yes, there is video which you can find below. Others, seeing what was about to happen to them, tried to escape by jumping out and down to the ground. And no, this is no exaggeration, as you will see for yourself when you watch the video. It truly is astonishing that this actually happened at Beech Mountain. But there’s more, of course. There always is!

DID BEECH MOUNTAIN SKI RESORT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY? NOT. ONE. BIT.
Because the Beech Mountain Ski Resort wasn’t very apologetic, to say the least. Not only did they not take full responsibility for the fiasco, they took no responsibility at all. Beech Mountain blamed the whole thing on a guest! They said someone skiing broke the hydrant (the source of the ice-cold water blast) by running into it. While I have no idea if that is true or even possible, I am certain of something else. The resort could easily have done something obvious and simple as soon as the ice-cold water blast problem started. Turn off the ski lift!
And then, of course, Beech Mountain put out a statement describing the incident as a situation where some skiers simply got… wet. I suspect after some lawsuits coming soon that someone will in fact be taking a bath. Here’s the video!
