ALABAMA AND OKLAHOMA NOW HAVE AI VENDING MACHINES SELLING BULLETS AT SUPERMARKETS
As I recall in recent years, we’ve had mass shootings at supermarkets in New York, Arkansas, Colorado and New Jersey. And if you go back 20 years, that list gets a fair bit longer. So it’s fairly concerning to learn that in Alabama and Oklahoma, AI vending machines are now selling bullets. At supermarkets. Having an awareness that gun culture differs greatly depending on where you live doesn’t really help explain this development to any degree whatsoever But when it comes to gun density per capita, the US blows everyone out of the water. 2nd place is Yemen, and they’re far, far behind us.

AI VENDING MACHINES SELLING BULLETS TAKES GUN CULTURE TO ANOTHER LEVEL ALTOGETHER
In the U.S., there are literally more guns than there are people. That’s relatively scary all on its own. Because not every American owns a gun. But many of the people who do own a lot of guns. I used to joke that the easiest way to start doing gun control was to simply control the bullet supply. And now AI vending machines at supermarkets are selling them? It almost seems like a joke. But unfortunately, it’s not. Sure, these AI vending machines use facial recognition to verify a buyer’s age. Yet somehow, I’m not too comforted.

But age (21 years for handguns, 18 for long guns) is almost the only requirement you have to have to buy bullets in the U.S. So while it’s slightly more rigorous than getting your Snickers fix from being hangry. But it means it’s easier to impulse buy bullets and start shooting someone because your blood sugar is low. Or something. The company who sells bullets from these AI vending machines is called American Rounds. We’ll just have to see how their sales go, and how local communities feel about this…. trend in the long run.
