VIRGINIA COUPLE SQUABBLES, HATCHET ATTACK, COMMITS SUICIDE VIA CHAINSAW
This isn’t something you hear about every day. In Virginia, a man assaulted his wife with a hatchet. That’s fairly unusual and disturbing enough. But he then commits suicide using a chainsaw. That’s just not something that tends to happen, except it did in Springfield, Virginia recently. Evidently the elderly couple were having a squabble in the foyer of their home in the middle of the afternoon. But the squabble became something far more serious when the husband, 70, attacked his wife, 76, with a hatchet.
WIFE RESCUED BY FAMILY MEMBER, BUT STRUGGLE OVER HATCHET ENSUED
Another member of the family arrived during the attack and had to force her way in, according to authorities. But she managed to rescue the attacked wife and got them both out of the home. But the attacking husband followed them outside where they then struggled over the hatchet. At this point it’s not clear who called 911, but after police were called the husband went back inside and shut the door. But when officers responded to the scene they found the man in the garage, lying in a pool of his own blood. He had serious self-inflicted injuries from a chainsaw, it appears as if the man commits suicide after realizing what he has done. After being rushed to a local hospital, the man later died from his chainsaw injuries.

RESPONDING POLICE FIND HUSBAND IN GARAGE WITH MASSIVE CHAINSAW INJURIES
Fortunately, the attacked wife only suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the hatchet, according to police officers. So far, the names of all three members of the family have not been released. “I could see that the lady was really confused and kind of like in shock, and her hands was probably injured, cut,” recalled neighbor Zury Bradcovich to media. “Then I saw them finding the older gentleman and brought him to the garage, put him on the ground and he was bleeding tremendously from this part of his body. He looked really bad and they worked on him for maybe 10 to 15 minutes, and then they took him away,” the neighbor added.
