It’s been a long, surreal and upsetting to many, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. For some reason, the powers that be saddled us with a day dedicated to remembering a man who epitomized equal rights and justice, coupled with Donald Trump being sworn back into office. And, let’s not forget, Trump broke American tradition by swearing in without placing his hand on the bible. I sincerely hope that isn’t analogous to how vampires avoid holy water. But then I also can’t help but wonder at Mammon, and how Trump also launched his very own cryptocurrency, $TRUMP

And even if you’re a Trump fan, you have to wonder a little about some of the details about this new cryptocurrency, $TRUMP. But if you are a Trump fan, it’s entirely possible you have already sent money to him, probably supporting his campaign, buying his NFTs, MAGA wear or…. Steaks. Yet I caution you to jump on the new bandwagon and to keep your money in your pocket, virtual or otherwise. Because as I write this, $TRUMP has dropped in value by 19.3%. And it was only down about 16% when I started writing this paragraph….! But the real detail you should know is that $TRUMP owns 80% of all $TRUMP coin.

In other words, it only has any value by community sucker bet. And Trump is already guaranteed to make a windfall whenever he sells his $TRUMP coins to market. So everyone who buys it loses money, in order for him to make some more. And take note, as his crypto website makes sure to say that his new virtual currency is “not intended to be, or to be the subject of, an investment opportunity, investment contract, or security of any type.” And that means no one can sue him for fraud for losing their shirt by placing a sucker bet.
He’s literally saying anyone who buys it is a sucker. But he definitely wants you to buy it anyway. Oh, now it’s down 21.8% You see where this is going?
