THE DENY, DEFEND, DEPOSE KILLING COULD BE A SIGN THAT THE GENIE IS OUT OF THE BOTTLE, AND FURIOUS
Killing is wrong. It’s always wrong. That should be a simple and obvious understanding for everyone. But the recent execution of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson should make us all try to remember that killing is always wrong. Yet besides the media storm of coverage about how the killer has somehow avoided capture, a lot of the rest of the commentary is… celebration over the murder. But the words written on the bullet casings of “Deny, Defend, Depose” should make everyone nervous, especially corporate executives. Because I can’t but feel that this daytime public execution is a sign of things to come.

The advent of another Trump presidency in particular means we shouldn’t expect an improvement in Americans’ healthcare quality, cost, or fairness. Not to say that any other politician from the supposed Left would be any better. But healthcare costs and quality could reasonable be expected to get a lot worse, while profits for providers, doctors, Big Pharma and insurance companies will likely balloon even more. And this Deny, Defend, Depose killing will likely be followed by others, with perpetrators riding the perceived wave of social justice against corporate executives.

But the timing is awkward, to say the least. Roughly half of all the Americans who voted last November voted for Donald Trump, the now longtime cartoonish character of bellicose masculine buffoonery and corruption who will directly -and through appointments- make it far easier for the corporate world to fleece the citizenry of the Republic. And those victimized citizens of sheep can’t help but note the Deny, Defend, Depose killing as an example to potentially replicate. And let’s be honest with ourselves: which major industry is above resentment, and immune from violent recognition?
Don’t be surprised then the 1-3% all live behind major security protocols. More than they already do, that is….
