You Don’t Have to Live in NY to Help These New Yorkies

Give a voice to the voiceless!

Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to finding “fur-ever” homes for Yorkies and other toy breeds. Its tagline is “Pawtecting those who cannot pawtect themselves.” Yorkie911 is made  up of dog-loving volunteers dedicated to working their tails off to save, protect and raise awareness about the Yorkshire Terrier breed. The passionate workers know they can’t save all of the compact-sized doggies in the world, but they sure are trying.

From now until July 19 you can buy a $5 or $10 raffle ticket at Yorkie911’s fundraiser on Facebook. It’s good karma to help the little pooches.

This online raffle fundraiser came about after the success of “Rescues Rock the Runway V,” which was held on June 8 in Hauppauge, N.Y. Dog fashions were provided by designers Yvette Ruta, Tuck & Tula and Belle Diva Couture.

After the success of the runway fundraiser, Ruta decided to keep the love going. She has donated luxury couture items to Yorkie911 for the online raffle.

“We believe in giving back and helping others in need,” she told TheBlot Magazine. “Throughout the year, we donate and auction pieces from our collections to charities that rescue animals. We also donate to the children’s hospital of Dallas and give blankets to the homeless through our local church. For the Yorkie 911 rescue, we donated pet beds, bedding, couture dresses, tutus and harnesses.”

Purchasing a ticket offers you a chance to win a piece a piece of Yvette Ruta Luxury Couture Clothing or Luxury Bed and Bedding. A $5 a ticket gives you a chance to win clothing, and a $10 a ticket enters you to win a Luxury Pet Bed and bedding.

Here’s How it Works:

Go to the Yorkie911 Facebook Event page and follow the instructions to buy your raffle ticket through PayPal. Specify in the notes if you are paying for the clothing raffle prize or bed and bedding. You will then receive your raffle ticket numbers, and then you can go to the prizes photo album and place your ticket numbers under the item you would like to win. Tickets will be available for purchase until July 19 at 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The winners will be announced on Sunday July 20 in the early evening and posted on the Facebook page. If everyone invited purchases only one $5 ticket, Yorkie911 will raise at least $5,000 and who knows, if you share the info with your friends and family, maybe the organization will raise even more.

One hundred percent of the money goes to rescuing and paying for medical needs of the pint-sized pups.
