BRITISH TRANSPORT POLICE MISTAKE VEGAN CAKE MIX IN HUGE AIRPORT DRUG BUST
The British Transport Police have some egg on their face after a mix-up about a huge drug bust at Gatwick Airport. We all know that mistakes happen in the war on drugs. Sometimes they’re tragic. But sometimes they’re so ridiculous as to be funny. Guess which one this is? The Sussex branch of the British Transport Police put out a tweet announcing a huge drug bust. But they also had to tweet that they weren’t actually drugs. Why? Because a suitcase filled with bags of powder weren’t, in fact, drugs. They were just vegan cake mix!

RESTAURANTEUR WAS BRINGING IN VEGAN CAKE MIX, BUT JUST TO MAKE VEGAN CAKES
Authorities had found a suitcase filled with 25 bags of unidentified powder. So they called in Officers to take the bags and suitcase into custody and start an investigation. But when the British Transport Police tested the bags, their lab realized the powder was just a special vegan cake mix. It turns out that someone who works at a vegan restaurant, Purezza, was bringing the bag of cake mix when police seized the suitcase. Purezza has locations in both London and Brighton, England. So for you vegans out there, this is a restaurant that brings home the goodies, and how.

But this is one of those no harm, no foul situations. But I am at a loss as to how the authorities couldn’t simply talk to the restauranteur. Seriously, a conversation couldn’t have cleared this up? Anyway, the police have asked that anyone in a similar situation to please label their foods and to maybe bring some sample of their cakes next time. Purezza, for their part, seem to appreciate that they got their cake mix back after the mix-up. They’ve promised officers a slab of cake whenever they make their way to Brighton.
