MARCO RUBIO TAKES NRA DONATIONS, BUT DON’T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS
So we all know about the new mass shooting tragedy that just happened at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward County, Florida. We don’t know what the total number of fatalities will be yet. As of the time of this writing, the death toll stands at 17. We know the shooter was 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz. We will continue to learn about how obviously disturbed he was and is to have committed such horror on innocent people. But we also know we are not allowed to talk about gun control. According to Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions before we know all the facts. Surely his position has nothing to do with his donations from the NRA.
ASSAULT RIFLES MAKE MURDERS EASY TO COMMIT
But what are the facts? Again, the facts are that someone who had easy access to a military weapon went and killed a bunch of innocents. We know that possessing the weapon enabled the perpetrator to plan and plan well how best to kill as many people as he could. But we also know that the weapon in question was an AR-15. Designers created the gun to kill human beings as efficiently as possible. We know Cruz also was in possession of multiple magazines to reload and continue to kill people.

But do we know why Rubio is telling all of us not to jump to any conclusions? Don’t we have enough facts? Don’t the facts say that if Cruz didn’t have this weapon, or any like it, that he would not have been able to kill so many people? According to Rubio, we don’t know that. So why is Marco Rubio so dedicatedly hesitant to talk about gun regulation? Maybe it’s because the NRA invested $1 million in campaign ads for Rubio in 2016. Maybe it’s because the NRA has invested that kind of money in elected officials all across the United States. Or maybe it’s because the NRA also invested $11.4 million in President Donald Trump in 2016. Those are some major donations that clearly buy results.
NRA TRUMPS ALL RIGHTS TO PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS WITHOUT GUNS
So yet again, we are left with the most obvious conclusion to jump to. It seems to be that elected officials find it more important to prostitute themselves to NRA money than it is to keep our children and teachers from getting gunned down, in school. Are we gonna do something about it this time? What will it take?
