LOVE HURTS MORE WHEN YOUR FRIEND HITS YOU IN THE HEAD WITH A WRENCH
Love hurts. And when it doesn’t hurt, it seems to end up hurting more. That’s a general truth, aside from all the joy and fulfillment love can bring, of course. But love really, really hurts when jealousy becomes a factor. Because jealousy can make the most otherwise reasonable people do the craziest, even criminal things. And this case of love hurts, because it involved one friend of 15 years ambushing the other with a wrench to the head. And yes, it’s because of a girl (woman, of course, you reactive new agers; it’s an expression!).

FELTON, 54, WAS JEALOUS OF HIS FRIEND PYKE, 51, BECAUSE OF A MUTUAL LOVE INTEREST
The head teacher of St. Hoseph’s Roman Catholic Comprehensive School in Aberavon, Wales, is 54-year-old Anthony Felton. Well, presumably he was the head teacher, right up until his jealousy caused him to sneak up behind and try use a wrench to bludgeon the head of his friend, 51-year-old Richard Pyke. And the security video literally has a warning that the footage is disturbing. Because it is. But even more so when you watch it with the knowledge these guys were good friends and colleagues for 15 years.

THE ENTIRE WRENCH ATTACK IS ON VIDEO, AND IT’S SURPRISINGLY DISTURBING
If you’re sensitive, you might not want to watch it. So far, there doesn’t seem to be any information on who the woman is that inspired such a jealous rage in a career educator. The video shows Pyke taking one strong glancing blow to the head, and a couple other slightly deflected ones as he turned to defend himself before collapsing backwards, likely from impact shock. Even more disturbing is how Felton smuggled the wrench into work to make this very attack. That premeditation is even more disturbing.
Swansea Crown Court has sentenced Felton to jail for 28 months for grievous bodily harm.
