HOT STARS ARE LEADING THE WAY HELPING TO CHALLENGE THE BEAUTY MYTH
Social media is a weird world. It introduced us to narcissism at its finest. It’s now okay to stare at yourself in your camera for hours. And then you post these shots for people to gawk at how awesome you are. It’s kind of very weird. And all these idealized bodies are ramping up the need to feel like crap, despite all the filters used to create the idealized person. Or spread untruths of what beauty is. But since the #metoo movement, things are changing. Women in particular are starting to work together instead of against each other. This creates a certain strength. More and more women are posting pics of themselves without filters, even embracing their cellulite or stretch marks or acne. They’re creating a new beauty and strengthening acceptance of self. Some hot stars are even championing this with humor.
CHAMPIONING CELLULITE AND STRETCHIES!
Chrissy Teigen, model, celebrity and just hilariously honest (which makes her even more awesome than imagined) puts it out there. She recently posted a shot of her legs and captioned: bruises from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week. Stretchies say hi! It’s about being a human. And Chrissy is hot. She leads the championing of cellulite stretch marks as acceptable beauty.

BEAUTY AND ACCEPTANCE OF SELF FOR ALL
Ashley Graham recently posted a pic of intense dimply skin and explained “I work out. I do my best to eat well. I love the skin I’m in. And I’m not ashamed of a few lumps, bumps or cellulite…and you shouldn’t be either.” And Hilary Duff the singer recently posted a flattering picture of her back at the beach holding her son. She has a few stretch marks and a bit of dimply skin. But it’s not a big deal she says. She posted on behalf of “…young girls, women, and mothers”.
WHAT IS BEAUTY?
So many hot stars, like Chrissy Teigen and Lena Dunham, have been challenging the status quo of what beauty should look like. They’re championing the cause and making cellulite and stretchies beautiful!
