LA ICE CREAM TRUCK IS SO FED UP WITH HOOK UP REQUESTS HE’S VOWED TO CHARGE DOUBLE
Ok, so it isn’t exactly what it sounds like. So by hookups, what we’re talking about is freebies. No, not that kind of freebie either. We’re talking about free ice cream, free service and otherwise shit you should have to pay for. I suppose this is part of the next generation of Web 2.0 culture. Some people think that if they have a massive following on social media, that should translate to free deals wherever they want them. But evidently, it’s gotten so prevalent of late that even the owner of an ice cream truck in LA is totally sick and tired of it.

SICK AND TIRED OF SOCIAL MEDIA TYPES LOOKING TO SCORE FREEBIE HOOKUPS
The ice cream truck owner’s name is Joe Nicchi. Evidently, Joe keeps hearing from social media “influencers” who keep asking for a freebies in exchange for… a mention via post. No, you read that right. So are these celebrities? No, of course not. Most celebrities know better. Well, most, right? But there are lots of people out there who aren’t celebrities who have lots of followers on their various social media accounts. Pretty much every week, Joe hears from at least one who offers to give them a positive post or mention as an ad on their streams. So what do they want? Well, a lot, actually.

CVT SOFT SERVE OWNER ANNOUNCES DOUBLE CHARGE TO ANY LOOKING FOR HOOKUPS ON INSTAGRAM
Joe owns CVT Soft Serve, aka an ice cream truck company. This situation has really pissed him off. So much so, he has vowed to charge anyone making him this offer double his regular rates. Now that’s more than our normal cherry on top, right? Joe posted on his, not ironically, Instagram account to announce the new policy. The post reads, “We’ve decided to make this thing official with signage. We truly don’t care if you’re an influencer, or how many followers you have. We will never give you a free ice cream in exchange for a post on your social media page.” Wowza. CVT stands for chocolate, vanilla and twirl.
So what deals have people offered him? Well, one crazy one was 300 servings for a post. Now, that’s a lot of twirls, wouldn’t you say?
