Did ICE Really Arrest and Possibly Torture a Legal U.S. Resident?

SCARY TIMES; DID ICE REALLY ARREST AND TORTURE A LEGAL U.S. RESIDENT COMING HOME?

It’s starting to look a lot like we’re all going down the rabbit hole of late.  Because each and every single day, there’s one or more pretty disturbing stories pointing to how much the Trump Administration is aiming to be an official authoritarian state.  And the story for today -so far- should leave us all with a very concerning question: did ICE really arrest and maybe even torture a legal U.S. resident?  According to Customs and Border Patrol, of course they didn’t.  But the facts seem to intimate that they realty did just that.

LEGAL U.S. RESIDENT FABIAN SCHMIDT SIMPLY DISAPPEARED AFTER LANDING AT LOGAN AIRPORT

The legal U.S resident was and is one Fabian Schmidt, who was returning home (here, to America’s New Hampshire) from Luxembourg on Friday when he simply disappeared.  His partner waited 4 hours at the airport looking to pick him up before they called authorities.  And all Schmidt’s mother could find out was that her son’s “green card had been flagged.”  And then she didn’t hear from him directly at all until Tuesday, which is when she found out that he had been hospitalized.  And why would he have been hospitalized?  Well, it could have been the flu.  But it could also be from the possible torture ICE subjected Schmidt to.

SCHMIDT ALLEGEDLY SUFFERED VIOLENT INTERROGATION FROM ICE FOR HOURS AFTER LANDING

Schmidt’s mother, Astrid Senior, said that her son was “violently interrogated” for hours at Boston’s Logan Airport.  ICE also stripped him naked, subjected him to cold showers, then returned him to his chair for more interrogation.  She also related that her son said that ICE tried to force him to give up his green card, put him in a room with nothing but a mat, too bright lights and a lot of other people with very little food or water, suffered sleep deprivation, and that ICE refused to give him his meds for anxiety and depression.  For some reason, Schmidt eventually collapsed and was hospitalized.

So why did ICE go after Schmidt, who is originally from Germany?  For a 2015 minor marijuana possession (in his car) which was dismissed.  But Schmidt missed a court date (that is now totally irrelevant) because the California court never forwarded a notice to him after he moved to New Hampshire.  That’s it.  That’s why ICE arrested him returning to the U.S..  Even though his green card was just renewed by the federal government.

We should all start getting a little more actively concerned about news like this.
