28 YEARS OF BIRTHDAY MACALLAN WHISKY ENOUGH FOR MAN TO BUY A HOUSE TODAY
So I love single malt whisky. Why? Because the wine of liquors is simply amazing. So much taste, so much flavor, each one totally distinct. But there’s a problem, the older really good ones tend to cost a pretty damn penny every single time. But one father thought they were a good investment for his son. So he bought his son a bottle of 18-year-old Macallan whisky every year for 28 years. And his son never opened any of them. Pretty cool, right? Well, yes, it is. But that is now a collection in such perfect condition, it’s now enough to make a down payment on a house!

FATHER’S INVESTMENT IN MACALLANS APPRECIATED OVER 800% OVER THE YEARS
So what family is this? Well, the father is Pete Robson, of Taunton, Somerset, England. His son, Matthew, was born in 1992. And Pete Robson had a great vision which is paying off for his son today. Over the 28 years of his birthday Macallan whisky buying, he spent roughly five thousand pounds, or 6,500 USD. That’s a lot to invest. But not too bad over that time. So how much did the collection appreciate? Well, a lot. Now, it’s estimated value is 40,000 pounds, or 52,000 USD. Now, I’ll have a drink to that. But if I could afford it, I would DRINK that.

WHISKY BROKER SAYS MACALLAN COLLECTION WILL SELL FOR AT LEAST $50,000!
Now, 28, Matthew says these birthday gifts probably weren’t the most appropriate gifts when he was younger. But his dad gave him “strict instructions never, never to open” any of these tasty libations. But dad Pete wants everyone to know these aren’t the only gifts his son got on his birthday. Whew! That would be awkward with the friends. But his dad is originally from Scotland and knows his single malts. So if you are interested in this little collection, the seller is a whisky broker, Mark Littler. He says it’s a “perfect set.” And considering how much the prices of Macallan have jumped in recent years, it’s practically a steal.
