HOW TO MAKE WOMEN SMILE, ESPECIALLY YOUR FAVORITE WOMAN
Brie Larson was critiqued by men and children for not smiling in the new Captain Marvel trailer which debuted this week. The men who wanted to make this critique could have done it in other ways. Many people are now excited to see the movie. But it also made many men excited to tell her something she was doing wrong. Instead of saying things like “this is well made” or “neat”, they said that Ms. Larson should be smiling more in the trailer. Yet her character was clearly under duress! But this is a common form of sexual harassment from men who have nothing going well in their lives. And these guys defend themselves by saying that they just want to see the women in question happier. Oh, yeah? Here are several ways they can make women smile, especially their favorite woman, without asking them to smile.

PAY WOMEN EQUALLY
A well-paid woman is a happy woman. Very often the phrase “she keeps all of us from going crazy” is used to introduce a woman at an office who is underpaid for her workload. The person doing the introduction feels a twinge of guilt for not paying her well, so they feel that they offset this issue by paying her in compliments instead. It doesn’t work. If they paid these women their appropriate amount, they could be introduced as “This is so-and-so. She’s happy.”

DON’T INTERRUPT WOMEN
One may find that women seem to be a little frustrated. But it’s because they often are not allowed to talk in the same capacity as men. Men will often interrupt women and ignore the interruption because they inherently view her as inferior. A woman who isn’t interrupted is a woman who can say her part. So she will in turn be happier, and will in turn smile more.
DON’T TELL WOMEN TO AVOID THEIR EMOTIONS
Throughout many disagreements in history between a man and a woman, the man has said that the woman is “too emotional”. This is because the woman is making the man uncomfortable about her being direct about an issue. He isn’t happy about her being direct, so he instead gaslights her by saying that she is in the wrong for using her emotions, and if her emotions are a sign of being wrong, then she is wrong and he is right. A woman who is allowed to express herself is a woman who can help a man express himself, and before you know it, both of the people are smiling more.
There you have it. It’s easy to make women smile, you just have to treat them like human beings. Especially your favorite woman.
