DALLAS DART TOKERS BEAT MAN FOR ASKING TO STOP TOKING
An Alice B. Toklas story this is not. Quite the contrary, in fact. Usually we think of pot heads or marijuana smokers as fairly, if not mostly, mellow kinds of folk. But events recently in Dallas showcase quite the different kind of pot smokers. A man named Kennan Jones was traveling recently on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (known as the DART), heading north on the Green Line train when he asked five men and two women to stop smoking pot on the train. Their toking was filling the car with smoke. Those seven people beat him up for asking. Not mellow at all.
ONE MINUTE EVERYTHING’S FINE, THE NEXT MINUTE SEVEN PEOPLE ARE BEATING MAN AND WON’T STOP
Jones recounted how everything seemed to change in an instant. One moment he’s riding the train and everything is fine. The next he realizes that a group of people are toking weed in the same enclosed airspace and he asks them to stop. Then everything changed quickly for the worse. “Everything just went from 0 to 100,” Jones told CBS DFW. “I’m just very happy to be here… happy to hug my kids.”

MAN PUNCHED, KICKED, EVEN CLOCKED OVER THE HEAD WITH A SKATEBOARD
Jones was severely kicked and punched by the group of seven people, all of which was caught in a video posted on Facebook. As soon as the train stopped, Jones got out but was pursued by the group who continued to beat him. At one point an individual can be clearly seen grabbing a skateboard and hitting Jones with it.
THE VIDEO SHOWS ALL, SHAMES POTHEADS EVERYWHERE WHO ASK, WHAT WERE THEY REALLY SMOKING?
If you haven’t seen it, the video was reposted by Dallas news anchor Steve Eager. It rapidly collected more than 127,000 views as well as more than 1,000 comments.
“This video is maddening and outrageous. The beating victim had the audacity to ask young people on a DART train (Green Line) in Dallas to stop toking marijuana. Of course there was NO Dallas Area Rapid Transit… police officer on the train, or on the platform once the beating spilled there,” Eager wrote on Facebook. “DART officials claimed the victim didn’t want to press charges.”
So far there’s no confirmation that the victim doesn’t want to press charges, but with mellow marijuana potheads like that, who needs enemies?
