FORMER US MARINE CORPS VET KICKED OFF DELTA FLIGHT FOR “THREATENING” ANTI-SUICIDE T-SHIRT
I meant to cover this story as soon as I first heard about it. But the cacophony of Trump this, election that, Israel and Russia and North Korea have kept me more than distracted. Yet I want to make sure this story gets some more coverage as it highlights how “woke” culture really means people in petty roles of authority get to flex their distinctive and limited muscles in scary ways. And this example is pretty telling, as it involves a single flight attendant working for Delta who kicked a US woman Marine vet off her flight because she was wearing an anti-suicide t-shirt.

HOW IS ADVOCATING FOR ENDING VETERAN SUICIDE A THREATENING IDEA FOR ANYONE?
That’s it, full stop. As you can see from the picture above, the t-shirt is pretty simple and straightforward. It’s not about politics, gender identity, abortion or anything remotely controversial. And it’s pretty damn hard to misunderstand what it means: “DO NOT GIVE IN TO THE WAR WITHIN, END VETERAN SUICIDE. But besides being impossible to misinterpret, it’s also totally non-threatening. Unless, of course, you are a demon disguised as a human being doing the devil’s work and trying to help keep the veteran suicide rate as appallingly high as it is. Who else would have a problem with an anti-suicide t-shirt supporting US military veterans?

US MARINE CORPS VET EXPLAINED WHAT SHE WAS, WHAT THE T-SHIRT WAS, AND FLIGHT ATTENDANT DIDN’T CARE
But the US Marine vet kicked off the flight, Catherine Banks, couldn’t believe what was happening as it was happening when the Delta flight attendant insisted she get off the plane right before departure because of her “threatening” t-shirt. So she told her, “Are you kidding me? I’m a Marine Corps vet. I’m going to see my Marine sister. I’ve been in the Marine Corps for 22 years and worked for the Air Force for 15 years. I’m going to visit her.” Banks later said that the Delta flight attendant said they didn’t care about her service, or her sister’s, and that the only way for her to be on the flight was to take the anti-suicide t-shirt off.

SO MARINE CORPS VET HAD TO TAKE OFF ANTI-SUICIDE T-SHIRT TO VISIT FELLOW VET
So Banks had to change her shirt to be on the flight, and then had to sit in the back of the plane, and not the seat she paid extra for with extra leg room. But what was this? Simply a power trip? Someone who hates the military? Maybe she thought Banks was gay? Whatever it was, it can’t happen again. And Delta needs to be very clear that authoritarian flight attendants flexing their egotistical muscles won’t be tolerated.
