MEASLES IS MAKING A COMEBACK, AND EVEN SCARIER THAT COULD ALSO MEAN IMMUNE AMNESIA
Apparently, we’re becoming more idiotic as an American collective with each day that passes. And regardless of what concerns you have about vaccines, it’s now impossible to ignore the reality that Measles is coming back. And why? Because in the last number of years, a bunch of people have completely abstained from getting vaccinated for anything at all. And that includes Measles, which 25 years ago was no longer a threat to public health. In other words, it was gone, and the only people who got it, caught it overseas and brought it home. And lest we forget, with the return of Measles also marks the return of a possible double feature: Immune Amnesia.

IMMUNE AMNESIA MEANS YOUR BODY COULD FORGET IT’S IMMUNE TO EVERYTHING ELSE
And I’ll be honest about how I have never heard of Immune Amnesia before now. And if guessing why is too hard, it’s because it wasn’t a concern, because Measles wasn’t a concern. Except is it, again, because a lot folks refused to get the MMR vaccine, which has been available to everyone in America since 1971. But let’s not forget again about Immune Amnesia, which is a possible side effect of Measles. And, truth be told, it’s pretty scary. Because if you get Measles and it causes Immune Amnesia, it means your immune system could “forget” that it’s immune to other things.

EVEN IF YOU DON’T GET IMMUNE AMNESIA, MEASLES COULD KILL YOU UP TO A DECADE LATER
If you still don’t understand, this means that Immune Amnesia could make your body “forget” that it’s immune to anything else you’ve been vaccinated for. Scary, right? But even if you don’t get this side effect of Immune Amnesia, Measles can still make your life hell even if it doesn’t kill you. We’re talking about fevers as high as 104º, possible pneumonia, even encephalitis. 20% of people with Measles will need a hospital, and if can cause neurologic and respiratory issues that can kill you. And then there’s subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (or SSPE), which you can get 7-10 years after Mealses. And SSPE will kill you in 1-3 years.
Right now, there’s a Measles outbreak in Texas comprised of 22 kids and two adults. And all of them could have avoided it.
