WILLIAM GIBSON’S NEUROMANCER SERIES MOVES FORWARD WITH MAJOR CASTING NEWS
Yes, William Gibson’s Neuromancer is still happening. The forthcoming tv series, and adaptation from the very same titled 1984 book, is moving right along with more casting. It’s been over 5 months since the show was announced, and that’s more than enough time for things to get sidetracked, sidelined, and even simply disappear. But for old school fans like me, dedicated geeks of all ages and the much younger and generally curious, it’s great news to hear that the show is not only still happening, it’s fleshing out the star roles. The latest casting news is Brianna Middleton, who will play the role of Molly.

NEUROMANCER SERIES NOW HAS BRIANNA MIDDLETON AS MOLLY, CALLUM TURNER AS CASE
This is actually great news, as Middleton is sure to attract a host of new fans all on her own. And Molly, the character she plays, is seriously badass. Maybe make that epically badass. The main character, Case, will be played by Callum Turner, who you may have heard is dating Dua Lipa. For those uninitiated to the story, “Neuromancer follows a damaged, top-rung super-hacker named Case who is thrust into a web of digital espionage and high stakes crime with his partner Molly a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes, aiming to pull a heist on a corporate dynasty with untold secrets.”

NEUROMANCER MAY BE THE THE MOST IMPORTANT CYBERPUNK STORY, AND APPLE TV+ SERIES COULD BE AMAZING
This exciting adaptation is the brainchild and partnership of Graham Roland and JD Dillard. They released a statement of their own excitement at the project that included, “Since we became friends nearly 10 years ago, we’ve looked for something to team up on, so this collaboration marks a dream come true. Neuromancer has inspired so much of the science fiction that’s come after it and we’re looking forward to bringing television audiences into Gibson’s definitive ‘cyberpunk’ world.” I’m excited, as this represents a seminal pillar in contemporary sci-fi. And the fact that casting is keeping quality pace is great news.
But no, no one has any idea yet when Neuromancer the series on Apple TV+ will hit our screens.
