DESPERATE TO BE A FATHER , MAN DIES AFTER SWALLOWING LIVE CHICK IN OCCULT FERTILITY RITE
People are willing to try the craziest things when they get desperate to achieve something. And I’m talking about way beyond alternative medicine, both Eastern and Western. And to some degree I get it, having just lost a family member to cancer. But trying something desperate to avoid a fatal diagnosis is one thing. But losing your life because you want to become a father? That’s tragic, and the details are no less so. A 35-year-old man in India who wanted to be a father died after he swallowed a live chick in what is believed to be an attempted occult fertility rite.

DOCTORS WERE SHOCKED TO DISCOVER THE LIVE CHICK IN MAN’S THROAT DURING AUTOPSY
The poor man, Anand Yadav, fainted while at home in Ambikapur, India. It seems as if his family either didn’t know what happened or didn’t tell the doctors at the hospital who pronounced him dead at the scene. Because when the doctors conducted an autopsy to determine cause of death, they discovered something they could never have expected: a live chick stuck in the deceased’s throat. Yes, somehow the 8-inch long baby chicken not only survived the ordeal of being swallowed, it stayed alive after the swallower had not only passed, but was eventually in autopsy.

Apparently, Yadav had been in touch with a “tantrik,” which means an occultist (and not someone who helps people achieve transcendent sexual states). And as people around him were aware he was having trouble becoming a father, it’s presumed that he went to the tantrik for help with fertility and swallowed the live chick in a desperate attempt at an occult solution. I’m not sure what could be more tragically bizarre, and don’t want to find out.
