Pennsylvania Golf Club Calls Cops on Black Sisters

STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA KEEPS HATING ON BLACK PEOPLE

Ah, Pennsylvania. I thought it just sucked driving thru you. But evidently, it’s not a great place to be black either. Well, not and play golf. Or go into Starbucks. Anyway. A local woman, Sandra Thompson, met four girlfriends for a round of golf at the Grandview Golf Club. They are all members of the club. They are all African American and part of a local group called Sisters in the Fairway. But their day of golfing didn’t go quite as planned. By the time they got to the second hole, a white man in the group behind them complained they weren’t keeping up with the group ahead. The women said wasn’t true. But the disagreement led to the Club calling the police on these black club members.

The club has apologized, but it doesn’t seem adequate. The white man who complained at the second hole is the father of one of the club’s co-owners. So one of the Sisters spoke to a Grandview Golf pro on that hole. But the pro confirmed their pace was fine! But the Sisters felt disturbed anyway. So they decided to jus skip the 3^rd hole and get away from the complaining group. But of course, it didn’t end there. It’s basic golf etiquette to let faster-moving players behind you play thru, or go by your group. And many courses have golf pros watching play to make sure the pace is fine. Long-time golfers, the Sisters were familiar with all of this. But they’re black.

So things got worse after the 9^th hole. That’s the middle of your golf day and when you normally take a break for a quick bite and the like. But three of the Sisters were really bothered by what happened on the front nine and decided to leave and call it a day. But the two remaining Sisters were in for more trouble. The complainer from the 2^nd hole was none other than York County Commissioner Steve Chronister. He, his son Jordan, a co-owner of the Club, and a few other white male club employees came up to the Sisters and told them they took too long of a break and had to leave.

WHITE FOLKS HAVE NO IDEA HOW GOOD THEY GOT IT

Oops. Can you imagine white people getting treated this way at a golf club? No, make that, at a golf club they’re members of? The question answers itself. The Sisters did not agree they took too long of a break and have video of the group behind them still having their beers. But these idiots called the police on the Sisters. So the Sisters waited for the boys in blue. The Northern York County Regional Police responded. They interviewed everyone involved.

But they left without charging anyone. Hmmmm. Yeah. An apology doesn’t quite cut it. But if you want to talk about it, we can meet in Phillie for coffee. But be sure to pay for your coffee before you sit down. At least in the state of Pennsylvania.
