LAST YEAR’S DRUGGED OUT NAKED BASS PRO AQUARIUM JUMPER TAKES PLEA DEAL, WITH A CATCH
Ah, it’s a new year, but it starts with new news on old news, from the last new year. You might remember a weird story about a man who jumped, naked, into a Bass Pro aquarium early last year. He was drugged out, acting crazy, intentionally crashed his car with his family inside, ran into a Bass Pro Aquarium where he promptly stripped naked and jumped in. Other patrons took video of the sordid event, as others ran for the exits. I almost forgot about it, and I covered the story a year ago! Well, there are more details that go along with the new news, which is that the man finally took a plea deal.

NAKED BASS PRO PLUNGER CLAIMS HE TOOK A LOT OF DRUGS HE “FOUND” ON HIS GARAGE
His name is George Owens. He claims he took a lot of drugs that he “found” in his garage. Well, taking a lot of drugs you just found is pretty bad judgement. Then driving your wife and 6-year-old son in your car while drugged out is even worse judgement. Then, Owens crashed the car (a Chevy pickup) on purpose into a light pole outside the Bass Pro location. Then he took off his clothes, ran inside, jumped into the aquarium while shouting obscenities at customers and police. When he finally climbed out of the water, he started to fight with the police as they tried to put handcuffs on him, and kicked one of the cops in the balls!

PLEA DEAL COULD MEAN DISMISSED CHARGES, IF VETERAN GETS THE HELP HE NEEDS AND CLEANS UP
Owens’ wife reportedly told officers she thought he was having a “mental episode.” But here’s the deal: Owens is a military veteran, and may get the charges dropped if he graduates from Veterans Court, which included enrollment in a drug treatment program, which also means no alcohol. Let’s hope he makes it thru, as he’s pleaded guilty to a number of class A misdemeanors. Today, he appeared in court for a progress review. So we’ll soon know more if he’s on his way back to righteousness, or another naked Bass Pro aquarium plunge could happen.
