So to get the jab or get the jab not? It seems to be the question on a lot of people’s minds these days. Well, or not. Until, that is, motivation suddenly increases for the vaccine hesitant. And I’ve seen a lot of interesting motivations out there, if not so recently as this. Money, a free beer of shot of booze. Shoot, even money! I must say though I was very disappointed to see a local program offering a $100 to get the booster. You know, a day after I got my booster? So Quebec is trying the same idea, by making the Vax a requirement to even buy pot or booze. And, well, it’s working!

VACCINATIONS IN QUEBEC RISE 400% JUST DAYS AFTER POT AND BOOZE VAX MANDATE
So as you might have guessed, the Vax rate in Quebec has seen a total spike in numbers after the shot for pot program went into effect. Well, and beer too! Because now, you can’t even walk into the store(s) without having a proof of vaccination! How’s that for motivation? This went into effect last Friday, when 1st dose Vax appointments were at a low 1,500 a day. But after just a few days, that rate in Quebec went up to over 6,000! Now how’s that for a shot in the arm? Numerically, of course.

So I’m not all that familiar with why there is such vaccine hesitancy in Quebec. But I do know that the rest of Canada thinks of Quebec as being a bit different. Well ok, not as different as Quebeckers do! So we’ll have to see how this goes to see if it’s a program that might have some traction in U.S. states that have dispensaries. And if you are a Yankee looking to visit Quebec, keep this in mind! Be sure to bring your vaccination card (or the recorded data on an app) if you want to get anything at the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) and Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC).
And yes, those are the only places you can buy booze or weed in Quebec!
