TYLER REKS TRANSITIONS TO BEING FEMALE, NOW GABBI TUFT IN SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT
So I’m not up to speed on gender identity in general. I know it’s complicated. I know there is a lot of controversy. But quite frankly I don’t really have an opinion one way or the other, except to support people in pursuing their own understanding of their identities. That’s a challenge for everyone. But it seems to be even more so for those who don’t easily fit into biology’s binary crap shoot of gender. And this definitely fits the bill as a brave personal story. GABBI TUFT LIVED FOR YEARS WITH A TOTALLY HIDDEN IDENTITY, NOW FREE WITH SUPPORT OF LOVED ONES
The former Tyler and now Gabbi announced (her?) (their?) in powerful fashion on social media. Gabbi, when still Tyler, is a success story in the world of pro wrestling. They/she have appeared on wrestling events on TV including Raw, Wrestlemania and Smackdown. But back then, Gabbi was a person with a totally hidden identity. Gabbi announced on Twitter, “This is a persona she has been hiding in the loud silence of her soul since childhood, with the blessing of her loving wife Priscilla, Gabbi is ready to reveal who she really is. Now known as she/her: A beautiful, wise, witty and wonderful woman.”

GABBI TUFT HOPES TO BE AN EXAMPLE FOR OTHERS FEELING TRAPPED IN SECRET life
Ok, so definitely she/her. In this realm, it’s important to respect all of these identity choices, especially pronouns. But Gabbi was (is now) a woman with a plan. Hinting for a long 10 day countdown that she had big news, many people were caught by surprise. But that’s to be not surprising when someone has to hide their true identity in secret. Yet Gabbi is one of the lucky ones, with a supporting partner and young daughter. She hopes that this loud and proud declaration offers a light in the secret lives of others. Because they can do it too. Tag, you’re it. Time to get in the ring.
