NOT A RUMOR, PEOPLE SPREAD THE DEAD’S ASHES AT DISNEY SPOTS REGULARLY
Disclaimer: I’ve never been to any Disney theme park of any kind. So I’m not in the loop at all about any of this. I’ve been to a Disney store once, that’s it. I also remember Michael Jackson having secret entrances to his favorites at one park, at least. So this whole thing over the last 11 years, about people spreading the dead’s ashes? I never heard of it. But evidently it’s a rumor that became an urban legend. It’s been on Disney fan blogs and the like. But we just learned, via the Wall Street Journal, that the rumor is true. Not only IS it true, it happened all the time. Disney staff even had a special report code to use. Alert: Ashes! This is just too real.

DISNEY STAFF USE “HEPA CLEANUP” CODE WHEN THE DEAD GET SPREAD
And the code? HEPA cleanup. That of course refers to that high end filter used in serious vacuuming. Like, when you are sucking up human remains in ash form. The Journal spoke with Disney staff who did clean up along with three families who spread them. So evidently, the ultimate tribute for a passed fan is to spread their ashes at a Disney park. According to the reports, human ashes end up on flower beds, bushes, Magic Kingdom lawns, near the park gates, on Pirates of the Caribbean (whatever that is) and some moat underneath flying elephants at the Dumbo ride.

PEOPLE SMUGGLE IN ASHES WITH NO TROUBLE AT ALL, REAL SAD!
One Disneyland custodian even said, “The Haunted Mansion probably has so much human ashes in it that it’s not even funny,” said one Disneyland custodian. It all seems very sad, this idea of smuggling ashes into a Disney park to say one last goodbye. More likely than not, these end up getting tossed with the refuse of tens of thousands of visitors. But of course, if they catch you in the act you get the boot. So whatever happened to Michael Jackson’s remains, anyway?
