ANTI-WOKE NEWS CORP NOW HIRING A DIRECTOR OF SUSTAINABILITY TO SUPERVISE ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY?
When I woke up this morning, I had no idea that being Woke was going to be even more ironic than it already was. Woke, of course, being an indecipherable term that conservatives hurl as an epithet of accusation at anyone left of Ronald Reagan’s wet dream. Sorry for the visual, but you get the idea. But Woke as a term is hard to truly define. It’s a “truth” that simply exists for conservatives. They, of course, think our “truth” of climate change is just as nebulous, thanks in large part of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp propagandizing against that reality. But then I Woke up this morning to find that News Corp is hiring a Director of Sustainability? Wowza.

NEWS CORP DIRECTOR OF SUSTAINABILITY JOB IS LIKE BEING DIVERSITY DIRECTOR FOR THE KKK
Talk about a cognitive flap! Because News Corp as a company has made even the idea of a job for Sustainability to be an unnecessary nuisance, waste of money and an offense to conservative sensibility! Yet here we are, Woke to the anti-woke bullhorn hiring a totally Woke position to the tune of $150,000 to $350,000 a year. And check out the job description! It includes this lovely passage. The job’s main responsibility is to supervise “News Corp’s approach to environmental responsibility with the goals of minimizing the company’s environmental impact, growing our businesses sustainability and inspiring others to take action.”

Can you do a double take just after waking up over and over again because you can’t believe your lying eyes? Because I’m doing that now, still. It looks like a nervous twitch, with vertigo. So yes, that Director of Sustainability position has a pretty broad and seemingly lucrative salary range. But considering how News Corp is currently valued at $9.24 billion, and Rupert himself is worth about $17 billion, the salary is possibly a little lowball. Except that the position exists there at all! So how could someone filling that position inspire others to “take action” in the job? They’d have to start by scrapping the Wall Street Journal’s Editorial Page!
