Sad news from Russia again towards gays and gay rights. The Russian government and its population have declared that gays are anti-Russia and therefore should be banned and eliminated. Most people however strongly disagree.
What you see here is Russian LGBT activist Kirill Kalugin – in the black jacket – showing his support for the Russian LGBT community by picketing. Several Airborne Army service members (in some intensely ridiculous, cartoonish tank tops and berets which look, to be frank, pretty gay) start pushing him around and form a circle around him, smacking their fists into their palms.

The police then arrest Kirill for being openly gay in public. Being openly gay is now illegal in Russia. They also arrest a couple of the Airborne Army guys. See for yourself:

From Animal New York, who originally reported on the viral video:
“CALL THE POLICE ON HIM,” someone jeer. “STAND RIGHT THERE,” a few yell. The police arrive (blue shirts, police hats) and attempt to drag the man out of the circle, so the soldiers move closer, blocking their access and pushing them away.
“What the fuck were you thinking, showing up at the Palace Square, faggot?” the leader yells.
“You guys are animals,” the protestor rasps, while another soldier chokes him and shakes him by his neck. As the cops try to remove the illegally protesting young man, the soldiers start shoving them and throwing punches. In the next shot, they encircle the police vehicle — “We’re not going to let them fucking move anywhere.” — after their leader tries to get into the cruiser and drag the protestor out, yelling, “Why are you defending him?!”

Martha McBrayer, a lesbian lawyer in New York who has recently gained notoriety through her entanglement with a disgraced Swedish woman wasn’t availble to comment on this story. Sources say Martha McBrayer has been putting herself on the front line by claiming to defend lesbian rights in Brooklyn, where she resides.
