BIG BROTHER SAVES LITTLE SISTER FROM KIDNAPPER IN BACKYARD WITH ONLY A SLINGSHOT
I always, always wanted a slingshot when I was a kid. But I only got to play with someone else’s, very briefly, once. Sure, they’re dangerous. That’s kind of the idea. They’re also really cool, simple weapons that anyone and use. Especially kids. And now we have this story, where a 13-year-old boy in Alpena Township, Michigan, saved his little sister, 8, from a 17-year-old kidnapper who was up to no good at all. With a slingshot! It’s the kind of story that would have (maybe?) given me the ammunition to get one of my own so many, many years ago now.

BIG BROTHER WAS HUNTING FOR MUSHROOMS WHEN KIDNAPPER CAME OUT OF THE WOODS
The older brother hero in this story was hunting for mushrooms in the family backyard, when someone came out of the woods and tried to abduct his little sister. Well, this big brother wasn’t having that, and used his on-hand slingshot to drive the erstwhile kidnapper away. I can only imagine how scary that must have been! You’re in your yard playing and suddenly someone comes and tries to take your little sister! But the big brother kept his cool enough to drive off the attacker with a steady hand and good aim.

The 17-year-old wannabe kidnapper was found hiding nearby afterwards with “obvious” slingshot “wounds.” Police detectives later interviewed the suspect, where he admitted that he had planned on severely beating the young girl. The attacker was arraigned last Thursday on one count of attempted kidnapping/child enticement, one count of attempted assault to do great bodily harm less than murder, and one count of assault and battery. The 17-year-old is being charged as an adult, though his name has not been released. And let’s face it, that little girl would have had a life-altering beating and trauma had it not been for her big brother. And his slingshot!
