PESTICIDES KILL SLUGS, BUT THEY ALSO DAMAGE THE ENVIRONMENT AND ARE DANGEROUS
And no, I’m not going to recommend some kind of chemical pesticide, which can damage the local environment, poison innocent animals, and you. But slugs aren’t going anywhere, and you can’t kill them all. They’re really efficient eaters, which means they’re omnivores. They literally eat anything. We’re talking fruit, most types of fungi, random debris and even the odd dead animal they find. But they really love lettuce and strawberries. If you grow either or both of those in your spring garden, slugs will come, if not at high speed, and not so much in the daytime.

BESIDES EATING EVERYTHING, SLUGS ALSO CARRY A BUNCH OF DANGEROUS DISEASES
And, slugs can carry several pretty dangerous diseases, most notably rat lungworm. If you accidentally eat some slug in your lettuce salad, that could be a really bad thing. Rat lungworm is a parasite that can cause a brain infection, which untreated can cause seizures, a host of neurological issues, and even death. So, slugs can literally kill you. But if we’re not talking chemicals to protect you and your spring garden, what does that leave? A lot of options actually, and they’re all natural. You can choose some or a myriad of the following to grow in your garden as effective slugs deterrence.
