Shocking? Every Single Tesla Cybertruck Gets Recalled

EVERY SINGLE TESLA CYBERTRUCK EVER SOLD HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR A SAFETY ISSUE

I used to be relatively ambivalent about Tesla, both in terms of its cars as well as the company itself.  Essentially, that means that even though I geeked out over a variety of Tesla products, I had to hold my nose- mostly because of Elon Musk.  Obviously, if I felt that way in the past the ambivalence is now gone.  But it doesn’t help that there’s now a lot of quality competition for Tesla in both the car and solar panel roof markets.  Yet I never, ever liked the Tesla Cybertruck, thinking that it was a totally wasted opportunity to make something unique and special.  Yet they are uniquely special, badly.  And I’m not really shocked to learn that each and every single one of them has been recalled.

APPARENTLY, TESLA’S BRILLIANT DESIGN IDEEA WAS TO ONLY GLUE THE FRONT PANEL ON

While the Tesla Cybertruck, all of them ever made and sold, is being recalled, I do have to note that the issue isn’t as horrifying as an uncontrollable accelerator in an Audi or a missing brace to prevent burning to death in a Ford Pinto.  But 46,096 of these Cytbertrucks have to come home to address the little problem of their front panels flying off.  I’m not sure what the fix will be.  But it will have to be better than the literal glue used to attach them in production.  No, really.  Have a looksee here.

And now that these flying off the car for only being glued to them is now considered a road hazard, they’ve all got to come back to special servicing if Tesla is going to avoid even more bad press (and civil lawsuits) when these things cause a major accident that maims or kills people.  So far, Tesla says it has 151 warranty claims over the issue, but no “collisions or injuries.”  That tells you a lot right there.  I guess we’ll have to see if Tesla stock (TSLA) takes an even larger hit than it’s already lost 50% in value.  And we thought the Cybertruck was ugly before!
