IN JUST ONE YEAR, THE TESLA MARKET FOOTPRINT HAS DROPPED 49% IN EUROPE
Somehow, this is still surprising news- mostly in terms of degree and speed. It’s been clear for months now that Elon Musk has proven to be entirely too capable at offending almost everyone who’s not MAGA. Though to be fair, he’s making snowball gains with MAGA types as well. But the rest of the world and Europe in particular aren’t MAGA populations, and Elon Musk’s capacity to offend is bearing rotten fruit as negative brand for Tesla in the latter. There had already been news of Tesla car sales falling precipitously in England and Germany. But now the numbers for Europe entire are in, and the drop from last year is an astounding 49%. The Tesla market footprint in Europe is cratering.

TESLA PERFORMANCE IN EUROPE IS A BIG BIRD SIZED CANARY IN THE COAL MINE
Has there even a case like Elon Musk wrecking a successful company like Tesla ever before? I’ve looked, and aside from some brief scandalous fallouts, I can’t find anything to compare. And so far, Musk is proving to not only be unrepentant, he’s doubling down on offending people he’s already offended, and seems to be looking to find a wider audience to include. It’s a remarkable shame, as Tesla cars (the insanely ugly and badly designed truck we’ll exclude here) are good vehicles. But people are protesting Tesla, vandalizing their cars and even harassing people who own them. And that’s all because of Musk. These devastating numbers from Europe are an accelerating trend, downward.

TESLA CAR OWNERS IN AN AWKARD SPOT, TSLA SHAREHOLDERS IN AN IMPOSSIBLE ONE
It seems entirely possible that Tesla as a company could result in total collapse within the next 18 months. Unless, of course, the company can find some way to get a divorce from its majority shareholder and Armageddon inciter. Tesla owners for now are left with the option of trying to sell a car no one wants to buy, or to try to do damage control by applying a “I bought it before I knew” bumper sticker. To be fair, it’s hard to appreciate products that became a Nazi brand overnight. Stay tuned, and maybe see how to offload TSLA shares before it’s too late.
