Traffic Stop Leads to Bombs, Guns and Civil War Plan

SIMPLE TRAFFIC STOP IN ILLINOIS LEADS TO DISCOVERY OF BOMBS, GUNS, AND CIVIL WAR PLAN

Police are understandably nervous whenever they make a traffic stop.  By the numbers, it’s one of the more dangerous parts of their jobs.  Well, that and domestic calls.  And while you never know who you are pulling over as a cop or what you will find, some stops are more noteworthy than others.  And this traffic stop in Pekin, Illinois was more than anyone bargained for.  It was the start of the discovery of bombs, guns and a plan to start a civil war.  Normally, this would sound like a bad joke.  But a joke it is not.

DALTON MATTUS REFUSED TO ALLOW POLICE TO SEARCH LOCKED BAG FILLED WITH BOMBS

On May 17th, police in Pekin made a traffic stop for 34-year-old Dalton Mattus, for some ordinary traffic violation.  Then they saw a bad underneath the driver’s seat locked with a padlock.  He refused to open it, and locked his doors to prevent them from doing so.  Mattus told them they needed a search warrant to look at anything else.  After a few hours, they got the warrant, opened the bag, and found a .45 caliber gun as well as two pipe bombs filled with BBs.  That’s when the authorities evacuated the building and called in the bomb squad.  Again, this started with just a traffic stop.

POLICE LATER ARRESTED MATTUS, FOUND MORE HOMEMADE PIPE BOMBS IN HIS HOME

So what could possibly come next?  The police went to Mattus’ home, dealt with a bit of a standoff, and finally arrested him.  Oh, and they found 3 more pipe bombs in his home.  When they asked him why he had the weapons and homemade ordinance, he said he needed to protect himself from “undocumented immigrants and a corrupt government.”  Mattus, it seems, went all the way down the QAnon MAGA rabbit hole in a way that makes Watership Down a soothing read.  All from a traffic stop.

What would Mattus have done between now and Election Day?  What would he have done when Donald Trump gets sentenced in July?
