You may not know his name, but if you’ve been anywhere near social media the past few years, chances are you most definitely have seen Tuna’s face, most likely in a meme or two.
See, I knew you knew Tuna, aka Phteven, the Chiweenie with the comical overbite. Tuna was rescued by Courtney Dasher at a farmers’ market in Los Angeles in 2010, and she brilliantly decided to start an Instagram account for her pup the following year. By the end of 2012, Tuna was a star with more than 1 million followers on Instagram.
The endearing little bugger was in New York this week to celebrate his new book, “Tuna Melts My Heart: The Underdog with the Overbite,” at Strand Book Store. Tuna and Dasher were both on hand to show some never-before-seen glimpses into the famous pup’s life, and volunteers from Social Tees Animal Shelter were on hand to give attendees info on helping, adopting or fostering animals in need, something Tuna himself was just a few short years ago.
Check out some of these photos from the Strand event, which was, obviously, the cutest book signing there ever was.
