NEW LAWSUIT CLAIMS TESLA CARS’ HAVE INFLATED MILEAGE, VOIDING WARRANTY EARLY
How hard can it be to keep up with all the Tesla scandals? Harder than keeping up with a Tesla car on an electric skateboard hard. Because the latest is a doozy. And if the new lawsuit goes class action as seems likely, discovery could break another seal on the company’s path to Armageddon. LAWSUIT COULD GO CLASS ACTION, AND A LOT OF PEOPLE COULD BE SIGNING ON
And it seems like the plaintiff isn’t alone, as his suit says that there are “numerous” other Tesla car owners who have been complaining online about the same thing: inflated mileage. And assuming that these are people who bought their cars before they suspected Elon Musk is the anti-Christ, it’s another bitter twist for folks who likely want to unload their Scarlett Letter cars. But that could be harder if the water gets really muddy with a scandal that could expand into hundreds of people signing onto a class-action lawsuit. Well, and how this will even further diminish the Tesla brand and resale value for its used cars.

The plaintiff saw some “peculiar patterns” in his car’s mileage growth after he started taking it to a Tesla repair center back in February, 2023. His suit claims that his average daily driving range was, at most, 20 miles per day for months. But somehow, his car was logging 72.35 miles per day instead. An extra 50 miles a day adds up fast, to the tune of 2,500 miles a month. Before you know it, your warranty wouldn’t be good anymore with its 50,000 mile cap, especially as a used car. Stay tuned on this one, because it sure looks to be in the news as a hot topic for a while.
