THE GOP GOT “WOKE,” WILL PUT WAR ON APPLIANCES ON THE BACKBURNER THIS WEEK FOR ISRAEL
I remember the good old days when we heard about the War on Christmas for the first time. That war still gets paraded around, seasonally. Then there was the war on straight people, which includes the war on Christianity, American Values (ever a mystery, there), the War On Drugs, etc, etc, etc. But it all thematically involves the War On Freedom in different ways. And all of those ways are utter horseshit, just a rank bullhorn to mobilize the vapid, bored, red meat eating base. But it seems the next series in the docket is on hold, and that’s the war on appliances. The GOP seems to have noticed, or a”woke”, to the fact that real war is happening and may become a regional conflagration.

SAYONARA TO “LIBERTY IN LAUNDRY ACT” AND THE “REFRIGERATOR FREEDOM ACT”?
As an aside, it’s hard to mention the war on freedom when so many members of the GOP seem to want to help Vladimir Putin as much as (strategically) possible when it comes to delaying aid to Ukraine. But back to the war on appliances, which is the kind of segue that’s now normal in American politics. This week, House Republicans were all set to go to on a legislative “war” on “woke” home appliances with their Liberty in Laundry Act and the Refrigerator Freedom Act. They clearly really do think this stuff is a winner politically. But someone may have noticed that AIPAC might just not seem to happy with them stealing oxygen from what’s happening in Israel. So the GOP pro-Israel pompoms are coming out instead.

So what’s the deal with this supposed Woke War On Appliances? It all has to do with new Biden Administration regulations for new, energy-efficient standards for… home appliances like gas stoves, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc. It seems the Biden Administration wants to help drastically reduce America’s carbon emissions and save Americans billions of dollars on their utility bills. What a horror! And the GOP has been gearing up to stoke conservative voters’ ire over losing their freedom to pollute and get legally grifted on their utility bills. But, well, there’s this situation happening over in the Middle East involving Israel.
Someone Woke the GOP to their real priorities, as the End of Days has to happen in just a certain particular way.
